:: THE NEW ENERGY POLICY OF THE HUNGARIAN GOVERNMENT - 2006

Desværre oplysningerne findes kun på engelsk i øjeblikket. Når ressourcerne er til det - vil også den dansk-sprogede version blive tilgængelig.

We reform our energy policy taking the demand of competitiveness, sustainability and the security of supply into consideration. We secure the continuity of energy-supply, improve its quality, stimulate energy saving.

Securing energy-supply

Establishing the security of energy-supply is the primary interest of our country. In order to reduce import dependency we revaluate our domestic possibilities, increase the number of the sources of supply, accumulate reserves and choose new means and routs of transport. We continue our successful foreign policy and aim for establishing balanced bilateral relations with countries playing important role in our energy-supply.

Opening the market

It is our obligation towards EU to open entirely the electric-energy market, which will provide a market on a new, competitive basis. To fulfill this task we create a functional model which defines the rules and regulations of operating a liberalized market.

One of the cornerstones of the new market-model is to supervise, or in case of necessity to modify the long-term contracts of electric energy purchase concluded between the power stations and public utility wholesalers , and the long-term contracts of purchase and sale of electric energy. We plan to modify the contracts taking the interest of consumers and industrial groups involved into account. Besides, the proceeding survey of European Committee also has to be considered.

The full opening of the market will create competition in the energy-market. This enables the lowest consumers' price to be reached within given market conditions and improves the efficiency of supply-system.

To lessen the burden of the people and to compensate the rise in international energy prices we initiate a subsidy-system on a social basis.

Increase of renewable energy resources

Beside the use of traditional energy resources, according to the expectations of EU, we increase significantly the utilization of renewable energy resources with especial regard to the use of biomass - vegetable- and bio-fuels. The use of biomass represents a great possibility to people living in the country, creates working places and it contributes to the structure change in the agriculture, which is essential to competitive farming. We back the utilization of 2-3- million tons of grain as renewable energy and the plantation and cultivation of energy plants necessary to produce bio-fuels.

We supervise the subsidized purchase-regulations of electric-energy and shift to a competitive method, in order that the possibility of the subsidized and obligatory purchase of electric energy could be distributed among the participants investing in renewable energy projects. We put great stress on stimulating and supporting developments and investments in the field of energy-efficiency and the utilization of renewable energy resources in order to reduce and diversify the index of the domestic
specific energy consumption, which is high compared to the international indexes.

We would like to conduct the population and the companies to energy saving solutions with financial means. With the help of domestic and EU financial sources we urge energy saving, which enhances the competitiveness of the companies, lessens the burden of the population and serves sustainable development. We handle with high priority the research and development programs dealing with renewable energy resources and strengthen our presence in the international establishment of R&D in energy-technology.

:: INFORMATION CAMPAIGN ON ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Our campaign is a follow-up activity on an already planned, mainly marketing campaign in the media about renewable energy organized by Energia Klub in Hungary, which starts next spring. We would like to concentrate more on a practical approach, thus it will be a useful continuation of the marketing campaign.

:: PELLET AND WOOD GASIFYING BURNERS IN HUNGARY
Pellet burners appeared on the Hungarian market only two or three years ago. The main obstacle of their coming into general use is the fact that they are still too expensive for the average Hungarian purse. The price of the burners depends on their size, capacity and mainly on the producer.

:: ENERGY SAVING: NEW APPLICATION POSSIBILITIES 2007
The Hungarian government gives 2,6 billion Ft  as not reimbursable subsidy for modernization of old brick-flats. This modernization includes energy saving projects (investments) and transferring (or partly transferring) to renewable energy resources.
In comparison with last year’s subsidy there are some relevant changes.
